    Råbjerg Mile
    Visit Denmark's largest migrating dune called Råbjerg Mile located at the top of Denmark, but do not get caught in the quicksand. The dune is about 40 m high and covers an area approximately 2 sq. km. Stop on your way to Danhostel Skagen, or stay at Danhostel Frederikshavn which is 40 minutes away by car.

    Skagen and the Grenen
    The picturesque town of Skagen is known for its unique light, cosy cafes, small streets and harbour atmosphere. When you stay at Danhostel Skagen, you are in the middle of everything. Visit the beautiful beaches and Grenen, the northernmost point of Jutland, where the Skagerrak and the Kattegat meet, and where the waves from both collide over the Skagen reef. Walk or ride on the tractor called Sandormen, which drives along the beach. Other sights include the Bunker Museum and Skagen Lighthouse. If you stay at Danhostel Frederikshavn, take a memorable trip to Skagen.

    Thy National Park
    Thy National Park has several natural areas with dunes, beaches, forests, sand drifts, heathlands, lakes and limestone slopes. Stay at Danhostel Agger and be in the middle of Thy National Park. The Park is suitable for hiking, bike rides and walks on the beach. There are more than 30 attractions including burial mounds, churches and lighthouses. National Park Thy is an obvious choice if you want to take a day trip from Danhostel Thisted, Danhostel Nykøbing Mors or Danhostel Thyborøn.

    Rebild Hills and Rold Forest
    Rebild Hills and Rold Forest are beautiful natural areas with forests, heaths, lakes and pleasant slopes. Book a guided tour and experience nature in detail. Follow The Army Road (Hærvejen) through the woods or cycle on the many mountain bike routes. There are various activities for children, playgrounds, geocaching, and fabulous scenery. If you stay at Danhostel Rebild you will be near Rold Forest and Rebild Hills.

    North Jutland's natural surroundings have inspired several painters, including Anna and Michael Ancher, P. S. Krøyer and Asger Jorn. Their art exhibitions are at museums throughout the region. The well-preserved WWII bunkers in Frederikshavn and the mohair farm on the island of Mors are worth visiting.
