7 Things You Should Know About Danhostel

    How well do you know Danhostel? There are 88 Danhostels in Denmark, so there are many things, that are nice to know before you book your accommodation. Here are 7 things you should know about Danhostel.

    1. You are never more than 35 km away from the nearest Danhostel.
      There are 88 Danhostels spread all over Denmark.  Therefore it is possible that you are never more than 35 km from the nearest Danhostel. The locations of the various Danhostels allow for a cosy and unique experience at each hostel.  See all Danhostels here.
       
    2. All Danhostels offer healthy and delicious breakfast.
      When you stay at any Danhostel, you can purchase breakfast for a reasonable price.
      There are often a variety of bread, butter, milk products, cornflakes, oatmeal, muesli, cheese, marmalade, honey, lunch meat and various beverages.  Breakfast can be ordered usually the afternoon before the day it is required for an affordable price. 
      Children under 12 years can purchase meals at half price (not valid for groups).    
    3. Danhostel year card give you a 10% discount on all stays.
      With a Danhostel year card you can get a 10% discount when you book your stay directly at www.danhostel.dk/en, or at a specific Danhostel.  An international year card costs 160 DKK and can be purchased when you book at any Danhostel.  Learn more about the international year card at /en/hostel-card-foreign-guests.
       
    4. Cook your own meals if you choose to do so.
      At all Danhostels, you have the opportunity to cook your own meals in the guest kitchen.  All kitchens are equipped with oven, fridge, coffee machine, and other equipment.  Our guest kitchens are provided for singles and families who stay with us, but cannot be used by groups.
    5. In 2014, (to date), there have been 627,791 overnight stays at Danhostel.
      Many of the 627,791 overnight stays were booked via www.danhostel.dk. You can always book your stay at a Danhostel directly on our website at danhostel.dk or danhostel.dk/en, or you cam book on the map on the page.  Here you will find a list with hostel description, address, telephone number and email address.
    6. In June, 2014, there were 117.213 overnight stays.
      The weather was great in the month of June and many chose to enjoy the lovely weather at one of our hostels.  Many Danhostels are located close to beaches, harbours, and beautiful natural areas.  They provide the perfect surroundings for a wonderful family holiday.
    7. Many Danhostels have the Organic label or stamp-they guarantee organic products.
      Many Danhostels are members of various organisations which issue organic certification.  One of them is The Organic Food Label (Det Økologiske Spisemærke), which guarantees that companies or organisations with such lables use organic products.  read more about the labels here.     Danhostel Esbjerg has a New Hostess

    Sally Due Sperling will be the new hostess at Danhostel Esbjerg on January 1, 2020. She will replace Marianne and Børge Bull who will say goodbye after 23 wonderful years as hosts at Danhostel Esbjerg. Sally is not a stranger to Danhostel as she is the current hostess at Danhostel Kolding and will say goodbye at the end of 2019.
