Danhostel Kerteminde lies in beautiful surroundings in the middle of a red poppy field, close to the child-friendly Blue Flag beach called South Beach. With fruit trees and a beech forest, it is hard to find a more beautiful place to stay. In the charming red wooden buildings, there are 30 rooms, each with its own bathroom, private entrance, Wi-Fi and TV. Everything is on one level so our hostel is handicap friendly.
Enjoy outdoor chess, table tennis and a large barbecue area in the courtyard during pleasant summer evenings. On the other side of the building is a large lawn where you can play a variety of games. We host meetings, conferences and events in one of Denmark's last ten dance pavilions. The majestic yellow building has unique meeting rooms in the middle of the beech forest. You are only a ten-minute walk from the lively town centre, the idyllic harbour and Fjord & Belt Centre, where you will learn more about the various marine species and get an opportunity to walk through the 40-m underwater tunnel.
Kerteminde is Funen's largest and most important fishing port with charming houses and two fjords. If you want to tour the area, there is plenty to see. Kerteminde, like Skagen, attracts many artists due to the great light in the region, so remember to visit Johannes Larsen Museum. If you like the good old days and Viking history, take a trip to the Viking Museum in Ladby.
For visitors who would like an active holiday, rent a tennis court near our hostel or go jogging, biking or hiking along the beautiful Great Belt. "Funen is fine," we often sing. It is an area with beech forests, manor houses and orchards, but also one which offers culture and gastronomy. It is a pleasant location for a holiday, extended weekend, meetings, courses, or family celebrations.
Without a doubt, you will have a wonderful time at Danhostel Kerteminde, located at the Northeast tip of Funen.
