A Copenhagen Food Tour is a great way to combine community, culture and cuisine.

Almost every day of the week – regardless of the weather – tours of 2 or 4 hours are available. The 4 hour tour starts at 10 a.m. and the 2 hour tour begins at 2:30 p.m. Several times a week, it is also possible to join an exclusive liquorice tour which focuses only on this black gold of the North.

The guided food tours are, most often, led by Maria, who knows all there is to know about Copenhagen. She will impart some of her knowledge as she takes you to various popular attractions around the City.

Tours start at Torvehallerne near Nørreport Station with 3 tastings at the award winning Arla Unika Cheese Shop, which serves two of Denmark’s Michelin star restaurants Kadeau and Bror.

The Bornholm Shop, which produces tasty licorice, caramel and other local delicacies, is next on the list. From there, the 4 hour tour – a full meal – moves on to Aamanns, the best location for open sandwiches in Denmark. Because of the popularity of the open faced sandwiches, Aamanns opened a shop in 2012 in New York.

Included in the tour is a stop at Nørrebro Bryghus (Micro Brewery), where tastings of three types of their refreshing brew should get you on your way. The Round Tower tour is next on the list. An organic hotdog treat awaits you. Choose from different types of meat hotdogs and a vegetarian option. Just after 1 p.m., there are two more exciting stops.

The first is a trip to Sømods Bolcher, a 120 year old company, to see the production of candy and sample their sweets. The second, is a visit to Summerbird to taste their unforgettable flødeboller, a popular Danish chocolate covered treat.

The 2 hour tours focuses on indoor markets, and visitors are introduced to modern Danish cuisine. This tour offers a light meal which includes many interesting samples such as award winning cheeses, craft beer and other delights.

The cost of the 4 hour food tour is 700 DKK.  The 2 hour tour costs 400 DKK. If you desire hands on experience, cooking lessons are offered in connection with a tour for small or large groups.  For more information, visit the website at:
