We need to take care of our planet and each other

Danhostel is a community of people, places and stories. We are a membership-based association and industry organisation for independently owned hostels and accommodation providers in Denmark and Greenland. Each Danhostel is independently owned and operated, with its own story, its own setting and strong local roots.

Our diversity is part of our strength. At the same time, we are united by shared values and a common ambition to create places where people can meet across ages, backgrounds and nationalities.

At Danhostel, we use selected UN Sustainable Development Goals as inspiration and guiding principles in our work with, among other things, community, social responsibility and the responsible use of resources.

As each Danhostel is different, specific initiatives will also vary from place to place. Across the organisation, we work to inspire, share knowledge and create frameworks that make it easier for each Danhostel to work with relevant social, environmental and economic initiatives.

What we share is a desire to create safe and inclusive communities that embrace diversity and give our guests the opportunity to connect more closely with local places, people and stories.

At the same time, we focus on concrete initiatives that can contribute to a more responsible use of resources.
