Tante T Tearooms - Cosy Tearooms and Cafes in Copenhagen

    Joy Smith

Tante T are the cosiest Tea shops and Cafes in Copenhagen.

Tante T Tearooms are the cosiest cafes and tea shops in Copenhagen. This is a special business with Mom, the baker, who keeps the secret recipes, and the son who is responsible for the daily operations at the four locations in the city.

The tearoom at the Copenhagen Museum will be open until December 1, 2014.  It is unique, not just because they sell home baked organic products, but also because they provide great customer service. The staff are courteous and always ready with a smile. Whatever you choose from the wide assortment of teas, cakes, salads and finger sandwiches – all homemade and organic – you will be pleased with the taste and the relaxed atmosphere. With its beautifully decorated walls, large palm tree, and high ceilings, the setting is reminiscent of tearooms of the 1900’s.

Tante T on Viktoriagade opened 7 years ago. It is just a 10 minute walk from the Main Station. It is an intimate location where you can sit and enjoy delicious homemade products and use a few minutes to catch up on the latest Vesterbro news. Choose from their 180 different types of teas and take away a piece of the magic. The 6A and 26 buses drive by this location.

The Kødbyen location, just a few minutes from Fisketorvet, is not a tearoom, but you can purchase teas, pots, cups, etc.

The tea shop at Torvehallerne close to Nørreport station has expanded and not only sells tea, but has a café which sells sandwiches, organic cakes and teas. Henriette, Communications Director for Tante T is excited about the improvements at this location.  She says, “we have a brand new T-bar next to our current teashop in Torvehallerne.  It’s a more modern Tante T with tea tastings and all the new tea-trends are presented. We also have mini-scones served on a small stand.” The 5A bus drives by the tea shop/café on Torvhallerne.

Even though the Tante T locations are tearooms, coffee, latte, espresso, cappuccino, and various other drinks are also available.

All Tante T locations are open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.  It takes just 5 to 20 minutes to get to any of the four Tante T locations from Danhostel Copenhagen City.  No matter which Tante T you visit, you can expect service with a smile, top quality delights and teas, and last but certainly not least, a great experience.
