Danhostel Copenhagen City

Do you love big city life and an international crowd? Then Danhostel Copenhagen City, a five-star design hostel in the centre of Copenhagen might just be the place for you. With its location in the heart of the vibrant city, you can hardly be closer to the centre of everything.  It is Europe's largest design hostel, with 16 floors and 1020 beds.  All rooms are large, spacious with private bathrooms. The hostel is within walking distance of major attractions, Copenhagen Central Station and the harbour bath at Islands Brygge.

The building near the bridge, Langebro, which today houses Danhostel Copenhagen City, was renovated in just four months. It is the ideal location for more than 180,000 guests annually, including backpackers, families and large groups of up to 300 people. Host, Jeanette Thunø Birkedal, has been the driving force since 2005 and has designed a modern hostel with a touch of big city design. The hostel is also known for its bar, Bar50, which was recently renovated, its Gubi furniture and chic Bestlite lamps.

From Danhostel Copenhagen City, it is a short walk to the National Museum and Thorvaldsen Museum.  The well-known Tivoli Amusement Park and Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek Museum are only 400 m from the hostel, while the town hall square, Rådhuspladsen, and the pedestrian street, Strøget, are only 300 m away. If you prefer to go by bus, train or Metro and experience the city's other attractions, visit Copenhagen Zoo, Experimentarium, the Blue Planet, Nyhavn, and Langelinie, home of The Little Mermaid.  North of the hostel are attractions such as Christiansborg Palace, Nyhavn and Amalienborg. The charming area of Christianshavn with its famous ‘Freetown’, Christiania, is within walking distance. Try a canal cruise on the harbour boat which stops right at the hostel's door.

If you would like to swim while in Copenhagen, Danhostel Copenhagen City is close to the Harbour Bath at Islands Brygge. The bath is located on the other side of the bridge, Langebro, and is a popular summer destination for anyone who loves the combination of city life and water.

At Danhostel Copenhagen City, you get trendy design and a fabulous location - perfect for your stay in Copenhagen.  A peek out the window from any room at the hostel will reveal some of Copenhagen's best views.

When you stay at Danhostel Copenhagen City, you are close to the Capital's international atmosphere and ambience.  You get 24-hour reception, free Wi-Fi, book-swap, and a delicious breakfast buffet between 7 am and 10 am daily. Linen and towels are included in your accommodation price.  Our newly renovated bar is open Monday to Saturday, from 7 am to midnight and sells snacks, beverages, cakes and other refreshments.
