Danhostel Hillerød lies in scenic surroundings close to Fredriksborg Castle, Hillerød Centre (Slotsarkaderne), and Hillerød Station. We offer accommodation to all guests and provide a training centre with modern AV equipment for meetings and courses.
Our hostel is open all year. We have 45 comfortable rooms, most with private bathrooms. There is free parking, free internet access in all public areas, an internet café, TV lounge, bicycle rental and laundry facilities. Meals can be enjoyed in our pleasant dining room or in the garden. We are right in the middle of nature with the forest, Store Dyrehave and several lakes as our nearest neighbours.
Danhostel Hillerød sits on 7 ha of protected land with a natural playground, barbecue areas, playing fields, outdoor table tennis, volleyball court and opportunities for all types of ball games. In addition, there is a small lake with four rowing boats. Borrow life jackets plus walking and orienteering maps at the reception desk. If the weather is grey, spend time in our cosy living rooms with satellite TV, indoor table tennis, air hockey, foosball, billiards and a disco with bar. The nearest supermarket is 500 m from the hostel and it is only 200 m to the nearest bus stop.
The Town of Hillerød lies in the heart of North Zealand and is surrounded by the deer park, Store Dyrehaven, and the forest, Gribskov. Hillerød offers a rich and active urban active urban culture with art and music and has several sports clubs, which provide activities such as tennis, soccer, basketball, swimming, and running. Hillerød’s large shopping centre and two charming pedestrian streets offer shopping opportunities, cafes and restaurants.
Go on walking and cycling tours. Cycling maps can be purchased at our hostel and you can borrow walking and orienteering maps.
While in Hillerød, visit Frederiksborg Castle, situated in Hillerød Town Centre. It is Denmark's 9th most visited tourist attraction and home to one of the most beautiful baroque gardens. Tour the ruins of Æbelholt Abbey (Æbelholt Klosterruin), Hillerød Knowledge and Culture Park, and the Town Museum (Bymuseet).
