The Old Town

The Old Town - Den Gamle By in Danish - is a fascinating open-air museum, which retells life as it was in the olden days.

Just imagine living in the 18th and 19th century.  Hard isn’t it?  Okay, what about the early 20th century?  That should be easier.  The Old Town is the place to learn about the days when people and animals shared the streets, and when Hans Christian Andersen lived and wrote his fascinating fairy tales.  What else? Learn about the 1900s, when electricity and the telephone were introduced into the world. And last, but certainly not least, go visit the area with the best rock music; maybe some were released before you were born!

Check out the Danish Poster Museum in The Old Town on the street called Sønderbrogade. Take a tour and view all sorts of posters and enjoy the fascinating exhibitions.

There is plenty more to see at The Old Town, so make sure you have a lot of time to explore and experience history.

The address of the Old Town is:
    Viborgvej 2
    Aarhus 8000 C
