Welcome to Danhostel Kjellerup, one of Danhostel's Newest and Exciting Accommodation Location
Danhostel Kjellerup offer accommodation in exclusive nature cabins located in fantastic surroundings. The forest, nature and activity park are our nearest neighbours.
Our 6 cabins are in an incredibly beautiful area by Krabbes Grønne Ring, a 14-kilometre-long path system which surrounds Kjellerup. It is perfect for walking, running and cycling.
Kjellerup is beautifully situated in Jutland’s Lake District or Lakelands (Det Jyske Søhøjland) just 16 km from Silkeborg and 10 km from Herning motorway. This lively commercial town has 6,000 inhabitants and several specialty shops. More than 100 years ago, Kjellerup's citizens embarked on a unique initiative to create a path system and plant trees along the path around the town. Since then, Krabbes Grønne Ring has expanded and now runs almost all the way around the town creating a practical path system in the middle of nature.
Activities for the Whole Family
Arena Midt, the town's major meeting point, offers a wide range of sports and cultural activities. Just outside the door of the Arena Park are plenty of opportunities for relaxation. There are free activities, and games including street basketball, multiple lanes/tracks and sandy areas for beach volleyball, petanque, training track with TRX (suspension training), bicycle and running track with obstacles, etc.
The Nature Cabins
Our six nature cabins at Danhostel Kjellerup have room for the whole family. They are all similarly decorated, and each has up to six beds. There are four bunk beds and a sofa bed. Each cabin has a private bathroom as well as underfloor heating throughout and is neighbour to Arena Midt. You have free access to the facilities during your stay, including sports and fitness.
No smoking is permitted in the cabins and pets are not allowed.
